Pick a picture that illustrates something central to the program. What looks exciting to students interested in this field of study?
- your unit does cool stuff: show that!
- colorful; shows action or an especially interesting object
- distinctively different from other L&S program images
Please avoid pictures of students and/or an instructor in general classroom settings, because these don’t effectively represent your particular field of study. If using a photo of students and/or instructors, please confirm with the subjects that they agree to this photo’s use in the Guide. Guide photos may only be updated during the fall editing cycle: confirm that any instructor image shows someone employed in your unit through the full year of the Guide.
- Choose an image that is owned by your program, or is from the UW–Madison photo library, or otherwise has no use restrictions or required photographer credit. Meg can help you find creative options.
- Final image size will be 960 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall.
- Source image should have high enough resolution to still be sharp when resized/cropped to final image size.
- Majors with BA and BS pages will share the same image.
- Units can choose different images for certificate programs, graduate programs, etc., or use a single image for all.
- Send image file to Meg: meg.hamel@wisc.edu, including the name(s) of the program(s) using this image.
- Meg will confirm that the image meets campus specs, and will forward to the Office of the Registrar, who will load it into next-guide.wisc.edu.
